As an Assistant Public Defender at the Miami Public Defenders Office, he developed his trial skills in the courtroom by conducting jury trials and representing hundreds of clients accused of crimes. As an Attorney Advisor at the Department of Justice’s Executive Office for Immigration Review (Immigration Court), he polished his legal research and writing skills by providing legal advice to Immigration Judges in the interpretation and application of highly technical and exceedingly complicated immigration laws. He also mobilized to several immigration detention centers across the southern U.S.
